Ivaylo Mirchev: The country's budget is currently leftist. Maybe it's the phase before Zhan Videnov's rule

"Bulgaria should have 90-day fuel reserves, but in reality it doesn't. Part of the reserves are outside the country. This is a serious risk, and the government has no plan. Obviously, no one wants to talk about it," the co-chair of "Yes, Bulgaria" and MP from PP-DB also commented

Ivaylo Mirchev: The country's budget is currently leftist. Maybe it's the phase before Zhan Videnov's rule - 1

The co-chair of "Yes, Bulgaria" and MP from PP–DB Ivaylo Mirchev stated in the studio of "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov" that his party will not nominate a candidate for speaker of the parliament and that it is time to put an end to the practice of the Commission for Combating Corruption serving as a political bludgeon.

According to Mirchev, after GERB leader Boyko Borisov signed the resignation of the head of the KPK Anton Slavchev, the next step is to close the commission.

"Borisov finally fulfilled his promise, albeit under pressure. We expect his entire parliamentary group to stand behind this decision, because the Commission has long been used as a bludgeon of the main "D" in the state", said Mirchev.

He explained that currently CPC employees are being reassigned to the State Security Service, which, according to him, is an attempt to dissolve the structure without real reform.

Mirchev also recalled the case of the luxury cars detected in Pazardzhik during the elections, which the Ministry of Internal Affairs initially claimed belonged to "employers":

"The police chief in Pazardzhik was fired after he tried to cover up vote buyers. We saw what results "DPS - New Beginning" has in the region - hundreds of votes, instead of 3-5 in a section. This cannot be done without bundles."

According to Mirchev, Mariya Gabriel, as Foreign Minister, has been in official communication with the British government regarding the possible lifting of the sanctions under the "Magnitsky" Act against Delyan Peevski:

"We have officially requested the documents from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We want to see – did she ask why the sanctions were imposed or did she insist that they be lifted. Four days of silence from GERB – no one refutes."

Mirchev warned that the suspension of fuel exports poses a risk of a crisis in the market:

"Bulgaria should have 90-day fuel reserves, but in reality it does not. Part of the reserves are outside the country. This is a serious risk, and the government has no plan. Apparently no one wants to talk about it."

He insisted that the Burgas refinery should be sold to a Western investor in order to cut off Russian influence.

Regarding the rumors of "warming" of relations with the head of state Rumen Radev, Mirchev commented:

"We are not in competition with the president. He is a problem for Borisov and Peevski, not for us. Our job is to be an alternative to this government."

Mirchev also commented on the topic of the country's budget:

"The country's budget is currently leftist. Maybe it is the phase before the government of Zhan Videnov. With increased social security contributions and a huge deficit, we will drive out working people. Instead of reforms – "a state administration of 600 thousand people that doesn't even pay social security," he said.
