Now there is a reform introduced. Practically, in order for me to start working, there had to be such a reform. Otherwise, there is simply no scope for action. Secondly - I notice a change in the style of action, in the approach, which I hope will become increasingly dialogical. I think that Mr. Terziev is gathering around him more and more cooperative people and people who can work in a team. He stated this in "The Day Begins" on BNT architect Lyubo Georgiev, who is the head of the "Sofia Team".
There is a need for changes, "because we all realize that the environment in Sofia is not up to par", he believes.
"Certainly Vasil Terziev has difficulties. And there were difficulties in the beginning. I think things are improving in terms of processes. I am an optimist in principle. If I were not, I would not be dealing with the urban environment at all. I believe that these changes must happen".
He was categorical that if someone does not "deal seriously and systematically with the problems, then we will be writing about the same thing for another 20 years".
Lyubo Georgiev did not want to comment on the scandal between Vasil Terziev and the chief architect, but commented on the context in which it occurred, namely that there is a discrepancy between the chief architect's recent behavior and the actual application, the conditions under which the competition was made. He thinks that this is where the rift lies. According to him, the chief architect cannot and should not be part of the political cabinet.
"That is why it is important to return the expert function of the chief architect, and not, as it is now, he is a huge administrator of all correspondence and all sorts of things related beyond the legal powers".
Regarding the increase in the blue and green zones, he stated that this change will have a "calming" effect.
The topic of mobility is one of the most controversial, he pointed out.
"If we do not introduce order in terms of parking, this city will suffocate even more and there will be even more cars".
