Teams from the Razlog Municipality, the fire department and the Ministry of Interior are working on the ground in connection with the heavy rain and the Yazo River overflowing its bed, the Razlog Municipality press center announced, NOVA reported.
There are three critical points in the city that are secured with teams on site, who are monitoring water levels and taking action to limit the risk to the population and infrastructure, the municipality added.
Heavy equipment has been mobilized and activities are currently being carried out to divert the water and control the overflow, in order for the river to be controlled before it flows into the city bed. At this stage, no signal has been received about people in distress and flooded houses, the press center also informed, quoted by BTA's correspondent in Blagoevgrad Desislava Velkova.
The Municipality of Razlog appeals to citizens to remain calm, avoid traveling in areas affected by the torrential rain and follow the instructions of the competent authorities.

Torrent rain also fell over Blagoevgrad. Due to the heavy rainfall from the “Road Infrastructure“ Agency called on drivers to drive with increased caution and reasonable speed on the section of road I-1 in the Blagoevgrad region due to heavy rain and flooded pavement.
On Friday evening, heavy rain also fell over Petrich, and the municipal administration announced that the city's Emergency Unit responded to four reports of flooded houses and yards.
