The Minister of Labor and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov is an exclusive guest on "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov".
He made a comment regarding the budget turnaround and what the conditions of the BSP are. He stated that the Christmas supplements for pensioners are not threatened by the return of the Budget, because they are by decree of the Council of Ministers.
"There are different vectors of this protest, but of course, the biggest one is starting to become more political, because if it were only about the budget, because I don't know what the logic is for them to call for another protest on Monday. We approached it in a reasonable way. Maybe the communication was bad, I won't comment on what and how it was. But you saw that the Joint Management Council immediately made a decision and the Budget was withdrawn so that it could be discussed again with the social partners," Gutsanov said, quoted by BNT.
Now is the time for the proposals to be discussed, not to be radicalized, he said, because in his opinion, "no one will benefit from this".
Gutsanov asked if anyone had anything against raising the minimum wage, that maternity benefits would be raised.
And he called - "if you have anything against these things - come out and say it".
"But I do not believe that radicalizing in such a situation, the situation in Bulgaria, is the best and most reasonable thing. I think that every politician, if he wants to be a statesman, should have a dialogue and comment on things, not radicalization and calling for some other actions.
He said that "dialogue is the key word". Someone must be responsible for the state, and these are the parties that are in this government, he said.
According to him, the important topic is "how to make people live better, and the Budget is the most important tool for this to happen".
Borislav Gutsanov described the government as complicated because it includes parties that are almost diametrically opposed, but "this was the only possible configuration".
In his words, the BSP must defend its social views.
"I think that this upcoming revision of the Budget will make the Budget better than it was. I hope so. Although it is very difficult to balance in this situation, because the numbers are uncompromising and mathematics is an exact science. But the fact that the talks have started again, I am sure that certain details will be worked out and it will be better than what it was".
When talking about payments and taxes - this is a common system and touching one tax, it has an impact on the chain of every element of life, Gutsanov said. According to him, "for 35 years we have seen for ourselves that there is no justice".
"The tax system is also part of this justice. When talking about taxes, everything must be carefully thought out and worked out in dialogue with society, with unions, with employers".
He stated that there should be no forceful imposition of any reforms.
