Former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Economy Nikolay Vassilev was a special guest on “Darik's Week“ and commented on the situation with our country's budget for next year.
“The state lives in a non-market, quite communist model. All highways, ports, airports, the entire water supply and sanitation system, railway facilities, paid parking lots and others can and should be built on a concession basis. In one term, they can all be built without the state giving money, we will save billions in capital expenditures and we can use them for other things, for example for the disastrous other roads in the country.“
„I support the employers for leaving the Tripartite. They have the right comments. If the state more or less does what the employers do, it will be much better. Right now we have state-oligarchic communism. An ever greater role for the state, more and more state-owned enterprises, the state will buy refineries, it will build stores. It is wonderful, when will the state say that it wants to buy a private radio station too?“
„I like a country in which the state has a smaller role in the economy, in which it relies on private sector initiative, in which there is less corruption and greater transparency, in which it relies on private investment, on dynamism, on growth. This looks more like the state of our youth.“
