Today, the newly constructed section of Sofia's Rozhen Blvd. is being opened for traffic, the press center of Sofia Municipality announced, dariknews.bg reported.
From 04:30 a.m., a permanent organization of public transport traffic is being introduced in connection with the launch of the newly constructed section of the boulevard.
Bus line No. 26: in the direction of the Gnilyane district - from the Obelya 1 residential area along the existing route to the stop with code 1634 Hyundai Bulgaria, along the newly constructed road route on Blvd. „Rozhen“, left on „Kiril Blagoev“ str., right on „Rozhen“ blvd. (old lane), right on „Dzherman“ str., left to „Rozhen“ blvd. in the direction of „Europe“ highway (Northern expressway) through the junction under the „Europe“ highway (Northern expressway) and along its route to „Gnilyane“ quarter; in the direction of „Obelya 1“ residential area - from „Gnilyane“ quarter; along the existing route to „Europe“ highway (Northern expressway) - „Rozhen“ blvd. (old lane), straight on „Rozhen“ blvd. (old road), left on ul. „Petar Panayotov“ and on its route to zh.k. „Obelya 1“.
Bus line No. 27: in the direction of the village of Katina - from the metro station „Kn. For bus line № 29 - 2884 “ Kv. Iliyantsi“, 2885 “Center Kv. Iliyantsi“, 2886 “Ul. Kiril Blagoev“. For bus lines №№ 83 and 108 - 6698 “Bul. Rozhen“, 6699 “Stadium Lokomotiv“ – final stop only for bus line № 83, 6769 “Stadium Lokomotiv“ – final and initial for bus line No. 108.
The following stops are closed according to the approved project for permanent traffic organization: For bus lines No. 83 and 108 - 1637 “Hyundai Bulgaria“. For tram lines No. 11 and 12 - 1915 “Ul. Grozden“ and 1916 “Ul. Grozden“.
On November 26, the Deputy Mayor for the “Public Construction“ Nikola Lyutov announced that the last layer of asphalt is being laid on the boulevard and 72-hour tests of the new tram route are ahead. After the renovation, a new section of the boulevard was built with two lanes, each with two traffic lanes, local lanes serving industrial enterprises and residential areas with sufficient clearance and designated parking spaces, new energy-saving lighting, landscaping and a completely renovated sewage infrastructure. The tram route and the contact cable network were reconstructed and integrated into the system on “Rozhen“ Blvd. The investment in the extension of “Rozhen“ Blvd. is BGN 49.7 million, with financing provided by the European Investment Bank and co-financing by the Sofia Municipality.
