The executive bureau (EB) of the BSP is resigning, but without the chairman Atanas Zafirov, bTV has learned. On January 10, there will be a party plenum, at which a new leadership will be elected.
Four members of the EB confirmed the information to bTV.
The BSP officially announced that the Executive Bureau is submitting its resignation to the Chairman of the BSP National Assembly Atanas Zafirov.
"The members of the left-wing leadership took this decision as an act of collective responsibility, with the clear awareness that at this important moment for the state and the party, the most important thing is to calm the situation and guide the party through the upcoming challenges," the left-wing also said in a statement to the media.
The decision was made at today's EB meeting. The composition of the group that will participate in the consultations with President Rumen Radev on December 17 has also been selected - Atanas Zafirov, Dragomir Stoynev, Kiril Dobrev, Kaloyan Pargov, Ivan Takov, Ivan Ivanov, and Manol Genov.
The BSP plenum consists of 25 members. The deputy chairmen are Ivan Takov, Kaloyan Pargov, Ivan Peshev, Dragomir Stoynev, and Ivan Ivanov. Deyan Dechev, Atanas Atanasov, Tsvetelina Penkova, and Filip Popov are organizational secretaries.
