NRA and CZP inspect furniture stores - From 1599 BGN to €1599 for the same wardrobe - 1

The CZP and NRA have received many complaints and signals over the past week about increased prices in furniture stores. In one of them, a consumer says that he bought a wardrobe last year, the price of which was 1599 BGN. As of today, after checking the store's website, the buyer finds that the price is 1599 euros. That is, the signal claims a 100% increase. This was stated by Tsvetislava Lakova, a member of the Consumer Protection Commission, at a briefing for journalists.

She pointed out that the inspection specifies whether the product to which the signal refers was not in a promotional period. The findings of the Consumer Protection Commission are that very rarely a trader can make a 100% promotion.

Lakova also pointed out that the signals and complaints to the two institutions are already decreasing. In the first week of January, the signals to the Consumer Protection Commission totaled 3,021, in the third week of the month they were only 900. When calculating the number of inspections, the violations are below 10%.

There are exactly 7 days left until the Bulgarian lev will cease to be legal tender. The last day we can pay with levs and stotinki is January 31. After that, we will only be able to use euros.

There are still over 10 billion leva in circulation, according to the latest data from the Bulgarian National Bank. This means that about 67% of the leva has already been withdrawn.

The BNB cash desks are also working overtime today. Some commercial banks also have branches open.

The dual labeling will remain in place until August 8.
