Mirchev on GERB's proposal: It's ridiculous given the fact that there are people in the National Assembly with nicknames like Buksata and Mozaka - 1

The first step is fair elections. When we went to President Yotova, she asked us to say what we think the priorities of this caretaker government should be. That's why the meeting lasted so long. There were 7-8 of us, and each of us had a package of priorities. We started with the most important ones. If we want to have fair elections, we need to start with the big shake-up. That is - an interior minister who is not a straw man. The directors of the regional directorates of the Ministry of Interior should be replaced. This means that the secretary general and the temporary head of DANS should also be replaced. They all act as an umbrella for vote buyers. There should be a Minister of Justice who can bring in and demand a new acting Prosecutor General. This was said in an interview with BNT by the MP from the PP-DB and co-chair of “Yes, Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev.

“Next is the money for the municipalities. Then there is the Ministry of Agriculture. Hunting and Forestry are extremely important. A large part of Bulgarians heat their homes with wood. When the forester tells you that you will not get your wood if you do not vote for a certain party, things are over. This has affected the entire country. Last but not least is the Ministry of Health, since billions are being stolen there. The draining of the NHIF must stop. We have a package of measures that the caretaker government must implement very quickly. In this regard, a large part of the reforms proposed by the young doctors must be implemented, he added.

“We must take these steps regardless of who will be prime minister”, Mirchev pointed out, emphasizing that the decision on the post will be Yotova's. The PP-DB position is against an acting prime minister who would be an emanation of Dimitar Glavchev.

According to him, behind GERB's proposal for Iliyana Yotova to nominate a member of parliament to become the speaker of the National Assembly and, consequently, acting prime minister, lies Borisov's desire to remain in history as the politician who has governed Bulgaria for the longest period of time. “This is ridiculous. Especially given that there are people in the National Assembly with nicknames like Buksata and Mozaka, for example”, said the PP-DB MP.
