In Cherven Bryag, they protested against the release of the accused in the accident that caused the death of former mayo - 1

A protest against the war on the roads gathered citizens in front of the Cherven Bryag Municipality building on Sunday. It was also organized against the court's decision to release on bail the driver accused in the accident that killed the former mayor of Cherven Bryag, Dr. Tsvetan Kostadinov.

The protest was organized by the father of 12-year-old Siyana, who died in an accident near the village of Telish on March 31 last year.

The Cherven Bryag Municipality informed BTA that the administration had received a notification.

Do you know how many accidents are caused on the road network of the district by trucks. This is exactly the incident and the reason for us to gather here today and shout that we want justice. This is the accident in which your fellow citizen and former mayor of the municipality, a doctor and a wonderful person - Dr. Kostadinov - died. It is time to stop this war, it is time for adequate measures by the state to control all cars that drive on the country's roads, Nikolay Popov emphasized in his speech to the gathered. He added that it is precisely because of such accidents with the loss of human lives that he tours the country's courtrooms to demand justice.

Popov emphasized that there must be swift justice with adequate punishments for the perpetrators of serious accidents. He added that his demands are not political, but purely human - of a father who lost his child.

All together, walking in one direction, we will achieve what we want - the elementary, human thing, which is, when we go out on the roads of Bulgaria, to return home, to return our children, not to be in constant stress that a heavy truck will pass by, unpunished, leaving the borders of Bulgaria unsanctioned and again returning on the roads of Bulgaria, killing innocent people, said the mayor of the village of Telish, Neli Dakova, who also spoke during the protest.

The mayor of the municipality of Cherven Bryag, Atanas Atanasov, was also at the protest, who said that he was speaking as a citizen. We need truth and justice - the truth should always come out, as it is, and everyone should bear justice for it. For this we must fight and be united, he said.

The protest was attended by relatives of those who died in accidents, residents of Cherven Bryag. They all observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the road.

The protest lasted nearly an hour and a half and passed peacefully.
