Tsvetanov: Delyan Dobrev will not leave GERB, but I assume that he will not be among the candidates for the new parliament - 1

Borisov has brought GERB to a state of erosion, which will increase. Currently, GERB is supported by people who have contributed nothing to the building of the party in real life, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, the former most trusted person of Boyko Borisov in GERB and Minister of the Interior in the first GERB cabinet, said in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio.

"Sacheva was a candidate from the Haskovo region in 2013, she worked against Delyan Dobrev and wanted Borisov to be in prison. Donchev made her a deputy minister. And Delyan Dobrev, as the main spokesman for GERB on several topics in recent years, has won the trust of many sympathizers. And in a regional aspect, he was a decisive factor because he was recognizable and did not lose touch with the voters," Tsvetanov also said.

In the program "Nescho pove" he commented on Dobrev's rift with GERB, which is not the first time.

"As far as I have information, the conflict between Boyko Borisov and Delyan Dobrev has been brewing for several months and then for 10 days it was more intense. "Dobrev will not leave GERB, but I assume that he will not be among the GERB candidates for the new parliament," predicted the former interior minister and founder of the Republicans for Bulgaria party.

Tsvetanov said that Dobrev had left before because of a conflict, but he defended him from the parliamentary rostrum. After that, Borisov pressured Dobrev through his PR people Sevda and Nikola to submit a new application and so he returned to GERB.

Regarding the 9 percent difference in the sociological survey between GERB and Radev's project, Tsvetanov commented that this was not a pushback of GERB from DPS-NN:

"There is no way Borisov can push back, because he led GERB into this spiral of erosion and he must bear responsibility together with the people with whom they governed. Until now, anyone with a different opinion who left GERB had to be shamed. I assume that Delyan Dobrev will not take any action until the elections, but with his non-participation in the elections, the process of withdrawing from GERB has begun and many supporters will withdraw. And I think that this percentage of sociologists could be higher."

The former close aide to Borisov pointed out that "responsibility must be taken for the results from now on". Tsvetanov pointed out that it is not normal for Kostadin Angelov, who was not approved due to corruption scandals surrounding the Alexandrovska Hospital, to have now gained power.

"Angelov, Sacheva, Toma Bikov have nothing to do with GERB, and you see that one Daniel Mitov, well positioned externally, when he joined GERB and was the leader of the list in 2021. For me, this is conformist behavior in order to gain positions, but when there is a collapse in the ministry, you accumulate negativity for the party," Tsvetanov also said.

He also commented on the "Petrohan" case, and recommended that all regional directors of the Ministry of Interior be replaced for the elections.
