President Iliana Yotova signed a decree on the appointment of a caretaker government with caretaker Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov.
With another decree, the head of state scheduled the early parliamentary elections for April 19, 2026. The numbering, names and boundaries of the electoral districts for holding elections for members of parliament are determined by the head of state with a third decree.
Iliyana Yotova will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the caretaker government, which will be held in the National Assembly.
