Late last night, the road to Velingrad was closed again due to a rockfall that has covered the road.
Specialized equipment was working on site to clear the area. No injuries were reported.
The road was to remain closed until it was completely cleaned. Rocks hanging over the road are also being removed to prevent new collapses.
The company involved in the cleaning did not give a deadline for opening the route. If necessary, the activities will continue at night.
Teams from the Septemvri and Velingrad police departments were positioned on both sides of the area and redirected cars.
The bypass routes to the resort are via Peshtera – Batak – Rakitovo – Kostandovo railway station - Velingrad, as well as on the Belovo - Yundola road.
