For the first time in Vratsa, a festive procession with national flags is being organized today from the monument, associated with the liberation of the city, to the center, where the solemn ceremony for the national holiday will be held, writes BNR.
The festive procession will start from the fortress near the city, where a monument to the trumpeter, who announced the freedom of Vratsa, was erected 65 years ago. There, after a short program, Bulgarian tricolor flags will be distributed to students and citizens.
"It is important to create an attitude in young people, in children, to honor history and actually recognize the symbols of Bulgaria, so that they do not forget their roots"
The procession will pass along the pedestrian alleys on the hill and will stop at the central city square, where the solemn ceremony for the national holiday will be held.
" For me, it is a day of national self-confidence, national pride. This date marked the restoration, albeit on paper, of the Bulgarian nation in its ethnic territories, however briefly".
"Modern Bulgaria was born on this day, regardless of all the historical events that followed".
"Let us at least briefly stop with our today's thoughts and passions and humbly bow our heads to pay tribute to all who died not only in the Russo-Turkish, for us liberation war, but also to all our heroes who gave their lives for the liberation of Bulgaria".
