Today, April 19, 2026, early parliamentary elections are being held in Bulgaria for the composition of the 52nd National Assembly.

240 members of parliament are being elected.

According to data from the GRAO, 6,641,768 people are registered on the electoral rolls. This includes all Bulgarian citizens with the right to vote, including those living abroad.

Nearly 4,800 candidates from a total of 24 parties and coalitions are competing for the 240 seats.

The total number of polling stations exceeds 12,000, distributed as follows:

Over 12,000 polling stations have been opened in the country in 31 multi-mandate electoral districts.

Abroad, the CEC has determined the opening of 493 polling stations in 55 countries.

High turnout is expected, with forecasts indicating that over 3 million people will exercise their right to vote.

These elections are crucial for overcoming the political crisis and forming a stable and regular government.

Election day in the country begins at 07:00 and ends at 8:00 p.m., unless there are voters waiting in front of the polling station.

The process is monitored by registered observers, including organizations such as the Association of European Journalists - Bulgaria.
