Andrey Gyurov: Nothing begins and will not end with Sarafov - 1

Acting Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov commented on his Facebook profile on the resignation of Borislav Sarafov from the post of acting prosecutor general, quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio:

"This is the man who stopped the investigation against 72 vote brokers with immunity, the man who blessed the investigations against me, the general secretary (of the Ministry of Interior) and three ministers based on signals from the brown media, while we were fighting for fair elections. Sarafov was known for his ads with dwarfs and contacts with the Euro.

Our merit is that we did not remain silent under the blows of his special teams, we gave courage to the brave people in the Prosecutor's Office to break the omerta, to testify about the networks of addictions. These testimonies remain and can be used to completely unravel all the knots and ties that have tied the Prosecutor's Office and prevent it from working for the benefit of society", commented Andrey Gyurov.

The caretaker prime minister pointed out the risks that, in his opinion, still exist:

"Two risks - the "26 seconds" syndrome was also transferred to the Prosecutor's College, they surprisingly quickly and with enviable unanimity removed Sarafov. The risk is that the new person in his place will turn out to be like the old one. The decision today seemed well-planned, well-directed, and executed as if for an audience.

The other risk is that politicians will decide that this Pyrrhic victory has won the long war for justice. The truth is that nothing begins and will not end with Sarafov - both new and old politicians have something to do on this critical topic. And they must act - wisely, but quickly. Not with threats, but with laws. And with integrity," says Gyurov.
