Elena Darieva: Trust in the prosecution service has hit rock bottom in recent months - about 5% positive rating - 1

“The timing of Borislav Sarafov's resignation really raises many questions”, commented the sociologist from the “Nasoka” agency Elena Darieva in the show “The Day Live” on NOVA NEWS. She also discussed Rumen Radev's decisive election victory, the possibility of forming a constitutional majority in the 52nd parliament and the financial moves of the caretaker cabinet regarding the Bulgarian Development Bank.
- Borislav Sarafov's resignation and the judiciary

According to Darieva, the resignation of the acting Prosecutor General, who has held the position since July 21 last year, is an event expected by many. She emphasized that trust in the institution has reached critical levels. “Trust in the prosecution service has hit rock bottom in recent months - about 5% positive rating”, the sociologist pointed out. According to her, there is already the potential for a “constitutional majority” in the National Assembly, which will proceed to elect a new Supreme Judicial Council, a new inspectorate and a head of the Prosecutor General's Office under transparent rules.
-The moves of the caretaker cabinet and the budget

Darieva commented on the decision of caretaker Prime Minister Gyurov and Finance Minister Klisurski to return 1.4 billion euros from the BDB to the state budget. She noted that this move was announced as an “anti-corruption measure” and prevention against possible abuses in the distribution of loans.

- The Future of the BSP
Elena Darieva described the election results of the Bulgarian Socialist Party as “exceptional erosion”. She recalled that in April 2021, nearly half a million people voted for the party, while on Sunday support fell below 100,000 - only 97,000 votes.

“Rumen Radev turned out to be an extremely strong voice for left-wing voters. The BSP lost an awful lot of support”, Darieva emphasized.
