Daniel Smilov: This is a government made against PP and DB, and in favor of other parties - 1

The government is extremely interesting. It has a very clear message – both in terms of composition and expectations from it.
This was stated by political psychologist Prof. Antoaneta Hristova to the BNR after acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev presented the composition of the cabinet of consultations in the presidency.
According to her, the effects from the point of view of the composition are as follows:

"We have representatives of the various ministries and agencies who have been working inside the system for a long time, who have serious experience and are not yet entering what they will manage in a relatively short period of time. These people are mostly experts, have been working for a long time and are associated with the period of GERD management. There are no bright representatives of GERD. We have three who are directly PP-DB ministers, and that ends the political overtones. These representatives of PP-DB are put together as if very deliberately and very purposefully. These are people ready to give up PP-DB."

The composition of the government is a slap in the face, especially directed against the PP-DB, believes Prof. Hristova.
This is a government against PP-DB. This is a government dominated by GERB, with a strong representation of DPS, commented the political scientist Assoc. Daniel Smilov in the show "Horizon do Obed".

"This is a government made against PP and DB and in favor of other parties. I also expect to see a change in the parliamentary majority – a new and perhaps formalized majority will be formed around GERB and DPS, with the help of people from ITN, "Vazrazhdane" incidentally, even the BSP may participate in some votes. We will have a new configuration in the parliament."

The main clash will be between GERB and DPS on the one hand, and PP-DB on the other. The other parties will have to position themselves along this axis. ITN and "Revival" more gravitate towards GERB and DPS in this clash, he reports.

Regarding the proposed acting ministers of internal affairs and e-government - Kalin Stoyanov and Valentin Mundrov, the political scientist specified that "PP and DB have reasons to raise objections" because, in his words, they were " key persons from the affidavit" which he says thwarted machine voting in the first round of local elections in the fall of 2023.

There was no constitutional crisis, said Associate Professor Daniel Smilov. He is of the opinion that the main effect has been achieved – executive governments not to be under the control of the president.

The president chose the solution in which he has a minimal role. With this policy of his, he wants to minimize his political responsibility, said Smilov.
An audit of the previous administration is necessary, and absolutely no one doubts that, emphasized Prof. Antoineta Hristova.

Even with its refusal to enter the consultations, the BSP positions itself as a firm opposition. The rest were in a very interesting formation. Given that in the first place according to sociology is GERB, everyone is currently reassessing and planning how they could enter into some form of general government after the elections – formal or informal. All who entered the consultations, including PP-DB, are formations that are trying to lend a hand to the next government, reads the reading of the political psychologist.
The exit of PP and DB is a PR move and an expression of weakness, is categorical Hristova, who defined this exit as "inadequate".

"It is most ridiculous for the person who talks about ala-bala to talk about fair elections. Elections and election integrity are attributed to PP-DB as a problem."

We don't know where the penalty vote will go, Prof. Antoineta Hristova also pointed out.

"These amendments to the Constitution are the most insane and stupid that could be devised. Everyone will disavow this government and say – it's not mine,' she insisted. The objective assessment of this government is that it is an expression of the parliamentary conjuncture, which, however, is unable to govern – so "the weakness of the parliament is expressed in the weakness of the government" and it is "not located in a relatively cleaner environment", the political psychologist pointed out.

"The changes in the Constitution are ugly. They are a betrayal of the national and public interest. All this must be changed urgently at the next session of the Parliament. This can happen with high voter turnout and with the activation of a penalty vote. It is very important whether there will be enough alternatives to take this penalty vote. This group, which does not vote and has withdrawn from both GERB and PP-DB, is seeking such a penalty vote. There is a readiness for such a strike against the rulers until now, but there is no entity through which to implement this strike, and that is a problem."
