Political scientist: Sociological research can be used for a purely manipulative purpose - 1

"This is another election campaign in which other than natural democratic techniques are used to persuade voters and audiences. A type of campaign in which the enemy is attacked with kompromats. We have inspired the voters not to vote for the opponent."

This opinion was expressed in an interview for BNR by political scientist Georgi Kiryakov.

"In Bulgaria, regardless of what you present yourself as – Euro-Atlantic or Putinophile, you use the same tools to influence society," he added.

Kiryakov said, we should not focus on sociological research from now on, because "they can be used for a purely manipulative purpose – to suggest to the voters that there will be no difference in the electoral picture, in the dynamics of the electoral processes".

Asked if there is going to be a big exodus of PP-DB voters and where those votes will go, the political scientist stated that it would "rather go to the army of non-voters" than to another party, because these are "people with sustainable position" – they would be disappointed by PP-DB, but in his words they would not vote for "GERB" or "Revival".

DPS have never managed to get out of their electoral framework, focused only on the Bulgarian Muslims and "here and there on the Roma". DPS is not recognized as an alternative, the political scientist is categorical.

There is absolutely no indication of the emergence of a new political entity. Small projects have been created, but in this election they will not have any weight. The old formations realize that this will not be the last early elections for this year, reads Kiryakov's reading.

The president may be passive because in this configuration of uncertainty the situation is advantageous for him – not to appear on the political scene yet and to appear on the political scene at a later moment as the next savior, commented Georgi Kiryakov.

It is possible that some political players are deliberately nudging the country towards uncertainty, he speculated.

"A confused situation in which it is not clear what line of management will be taken – whether Euro-Atlantic, whether it will not be. To have political uncertainty in the country, through which different interests can be pushed. Different from the interests of society."
