The Ministry of Internal Affairs-Burgas now has a new device that accurately measures the presence of alcohol and drugs in the blood.
The new device will test drivers who do not agree with the results reported by the dragger during a road test. The sample is interpreted as equivalent to a blood sample and the procedure takes no more than 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, the police in Burgas report a decrease in the number of drivers caught driving cars who have consumed alcohol and drugs.
“Since the beginning of March, we have received an additional technical tool, the so-called evidence analyzer, which enables drivers who do not agree with the dragger's indicators to be retested. This device is more accurate and specific," explained the head of the "Security Police" department. in ODMVR-Burgas, Commissioner Marin Dimitrov.
„Once such a sample is taken, it is taken as evidence, equivalent to a blood sample. It's accurate, they give it as the latest development,” said operational duty officer Alexey Rusev about the new equipment.
The regional administration in the seaside town has provided the police with a second parking lot to store confiscated cars from abusive drivers. The regional offices on the Southern Black Sea coast are already overflowing with stolen cars.
The district directorate is the leader in impounded cars, especially during the summer season. Nearly 360 pre-trial proceedings have been initiated so far.
