They signal the SDVR due to the new organization of traffic on Vitosha Blvd. - 1

Due to the new organization of traffic on "Vitosha" Blvd., "Patriarh Evtimiy" Blvd. and "Fridjof Nansen" Street, the European Center for Transport Policies (ETCP) is signaling the SDVR for a "suspicious" document with false content, bTV reported, quoted by novini.bg.

The Center for Transport Policies claims that Protocol No. 15, published on the Sofia Municipality website, is missing pages. As well as the lack of a General Plan for the organization of traffic in the territory of Sofia, on the basis of which the changes are being made.

The president of the association Diana Rusinova insists that the Minister of Interior Kalin Stoyanov show a document that makes it clear whether the decision was coordinated with employees of the Internal Affairs Directorate and traffic police experts.

We recall that on Thursday the request to cancel the new road markings was filed with the Sofia Administrative Court.

The new organization on "Vitosha" Blvd., "Patriarh Evtimiy" Blvd. and "Fridjof Nansen" Street caused civil protests. According to the dissatisfied, there are huge traffic jams in front of their homes, and because of the new diagonal parking and the bike lanes in the area, there is no way for ambulances or cars to stop there for refueling.

The Transport Commission in the SOS asked Terziev to freeze the project for "Patriarch Evtimii"

The topic also caused a dispute between the Minister of Interior Kalin Stoyanov and the Sofia Municipality. According to the Minister of Interior, the new organization creates a prerequisite for traffic jams.

I do not approve of what is happening there. Sofia must first ensure above-ground and underground parking lots for all these cars in the central part and then for the alleys, Stoyanov commented.

The argument "first you had to make parking lots, then changes is not valid". I understand the dissatisfaction. I am carefully monitoring the situation. We will not stop the project. But if necessary, we will make adjustments. We are thinking about parking spaces, how traffic will develop, public transport, said Mayor Vasil Terziev.

A dispute also arose over the project's permit. According to the municipality, the idea is more than 10 years old. And the project - from 2019. Since then, it has been reviewed by a committee several times. The last - in April.

Against this background, Mayor Terziev reported that they had made a mistake, but it was a communication mistake - not everyone understood the changes.
