The union of railway workers at KNSB demanded the immediate resignation of the management of the National Company “Railway Infrastructure”.

The average age of the employees is over 50. Among them, about 500 people are retired because there is no one to work. There are already more than 1,300 vacancies, warns trade unionist Petar Bunev.
„After 3-4 years we will reach the state that the hospitals reached. Now even if they are looking for sisters, there will simply be no one to work”, commented Bunev.
The reasons are high demands, low pay, overtime and harsh working conditions. Last year, the average salary in the National Railway Infrastructure Company was was about 25% lower than the national average. Within the company, the differences in pay are huge, the union claims.
