After yesterday, hundreds of citizens and officials paid their last respects in front of King Ferdinand's coffin in the central foyer of the "Crow" royal palace, today his mortal remains were laid to rest in the palace crypt.
The coffin was carried in the hands of members of the royal family and relatives, led by princes Cyril and Constantine-Asen.
The procession, led by Tsar Simeon II, ended in the crypt of the palace, where after a prayer by the staurophorian butler Nikolay Georgiev (priest of the Metropolitan Church “St. Sunday”), the body of the late tsar was placed in the specially made for the case sarcophagus of dark red marble.
