Kancho Stoychev: An option with an expert government of Slavi Trifonov is not risky for Borisov - 1

It is entirely possible that Slavi Trifonov's third mandate will attract wider support than those of GERB and DPS. Probably others will be awarded because there will be no main opponents.

Very often in such disputes, the small one turns out to be the constructive party and the platform on which a compromise can be reached. Sociologist Kancho Stoychev told Radio "Focus“.

The election of the speaker of the National Assembly today means that the parliament will function and we are heading towards the search for a government formula, he said.

Slavi Trifonov's request that he will not support a government with the first and second terms means that the only option is an expert government with a mandate of "There is such a people".

"Slavi Trifonov offers it, does not ask for anything, nor threatens. On the contrary – he shoulders an over-responsibility. He says: "I will take the chestnuts out of the fire, but under these conditions”. I do not think that the option of a third term and an expert government of Slavi Trifonov is risky for Borisov. Yes, GERB and DPS will have to support this majority, but both they will support it and they will control it, because we know that one vote in the parliament is enough for it to fall. Such a government is always a government of "logs" and it can always only be temporary, with a clear arrangement and a clear task of what needs to be done," explained Stoychev.

The sociologist pointed out that GERB leader Boyko Borisov will try to achieve the widest possible support for a cabinet with the first mandate and will probably invite all political forces to consultations.

"And who will go is another matter. He is right that the times we are in, it is best to go for as broad support as possible, albeit temporarily, until some problems are overcome. But this can hardly happen with his first term, even if he is the winner,”, he commented.

According to Stoychev, an option to form a cabinet with a mandate from GERB-SDS or DPS and partial support from "We continue the change” – "Democratic Bulgaria” or "Majesty“ in his opinion is unlikely.

"If all three mandates fail and new elections are held, the results will not be much different," the sociologist believes.

"There is talk of a new project, but even if there is such a new project, it requires pure organizational time. In addition, there are several key issues that our country needs to address – Eurozone, "Schengen” and the Recovery and Resilience Plan, where we are so far behind that we will desperately lose huge amounts of money.

Although with many compromises, if a government is formed in 12 months, let's say with clear three, five, eight points and they are implemented, it would be a success for the country. Then you can go to the elections. This is the better option. If it cannot be composed, it is still not a tragedy. The only cure for democracy is elections. The democratic procedure does not guarantee good governance, but the choice of the people, added Kancho Stoychev.

The behavior of "We keep changing“ according to the sociologist, it is irresponsible and schizophrenic.

"The problem of this group of people is that they don't love Bulgaria. This is the greatest moral crime. To be in politics, one must love one's country. The failure of the rotation and the previous government was due to the fact that there were two groups, each of which wanted to arrest the other. They are representatives of the biggest lie in modern Bulgarian history – that the most important thing is judicial reform.

They changed the judicial system several times, only for the worse, and finally they destroyed the Constitution, which had proven to work well. And now they want more of the same – to keep busying us with the judicial reform, hunting for corruption, pretending to be clean and honest, but in fact they don't care about Bulgaria. "I don't see a future there," added Stoychev.
