Today, President Rumen Radev and Vice President Iliana Yotova will open the International Forum for the Cyrillic “Alphabet. Language. Identity“, dariknews.bg reported.
The forum is an initiative of the vice president and is organized with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science. It is a continuation of the 2022 International Cyrillic Forum “… And we have given something to the world“.
More than 30 famous Slavic scholars from 11 countries, together with their Bulgarian colleagues, will discuss the importance of the Slavic heritage of letters, words, language, culture and wisdom, its preservation and dissemination in the modern world, as well as the importance of language and identity in the processes of globalization. Emphasis will be on Bulgaria's key role in the creation of the third Christian civilization – the Slavic.
The forum continues the next day, June 28, at 9:00 a.m. at the Regional History Museum in Plovdiv.
