Stoynev: Miners and energy workers are hostages to the chaos and helplessness in energy management - 1

Official Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov has postponed the response to current question about what is happening with the notification by the European Commission of the 250 million BGN per year voted by the previous composition of the National Assembly for a 4-year period, given to him by Dragomir Stoynev. This was announced by the District Council of the BSP Stara Zagora.
Dragomir Stoynev, who is a former minister of energy, once again represents the region as an MP in the National Assembly after the last parliamentary elections. According to him, the postponement means that the minister has no answer, despite his extraordinary activity in support of GERB during the elections.
According to the BSP, the support for GERB in the past parliamentary elections by miners and unions is bearing fruit at the moment. A month ago – on June 5, at the end of the campaign, the acting Minister of Energy came personally to "Mini Maritsa East" to ensure that while the EC has decided on the decision of the National Assembly to secure BGN 250 million from the state budget annually for the next four years for “Mini Maritsa-East”, their financial stability is guaranteed with a BGN 100 million credit line from BEH and a BGN 50 million loan from a commercial bank. So far, only BGN 50 million of the loan has gone to the mines. The receipt of the remaining BGN 100 million is questionable.
According to an official announcement of the Ministry of Energy, the expediency of their expenditure must be justified by the mines in case of emerging needs.
Stoynev commented to the media that miners and energy workers are unfortunately hostages to the chaos and helplessness in the management of the Bulgarian energy sector. According to him, “Mini Maritsa-east“ are in a crisis situation regarding the payment of remunerations and financing of operational activity, and the way out of the crisis depends on the adequate and professional actions of the political leadership of the energy sector.
“The political blockade prevents the solution of the problems of the Mariska basin. A regular government with very high energy expertise is needed and immediate action is needed to financially stabilize the mines and to renegotiate the Green Deal at EU level. I don't see how that's going to happen now and I'm genuinely worried. The events of recent days show that party selfishness prevails over public interest. I hope that miners, energy workers and trade unions will see another signal and understand that the solution to their problems is not in the hands of the current rulers.“, Stoynev also said.
