After a week of political tension and divisions in the DPS group, some of the members of the Movement met with the Honorary Chairman Ahmed Dogan at his residence in Rosenets.
After the meeting, Jevdet Chakarov stated, quoted by BNT:
"We had a thorough discussion with our Honorary Chairman. It can be seen that there is a build-up of tension. DPS is not functioning normally and should be returned to normal. There is no going back, and moving forward, normalcy must be restored. Expect an address from our Honorary Chairman shortly. Our collective bodies are not functioning and this can no longer continue".
He was adamant that there should be stability in the country and "all possible efforts should be made to form a government".
"We are seeing what is happening with recovery rights and resilience. We see what is happening with the European programs. There is something to do".
Until now, Ahmed Dogan has not commented on what is happening in the DPS. However, it is expected that his position will become clear precisely after today's meeting.
"Let's hear Mr. Dogan, until we hear him there is no answer to this question. We are currently hearing about Dogan's words through his spokespeople. We hope that today at this meeting, which will probably take place, the 17 MPs who supported his position not to vote for the government, as we understand, have been invited to a meeting with him and from there we will find out what he thinks," commented in front of BNT journalist Valeriya Veleva.
And the youth DPS came out with its position today. It is Jeyhan Ibryamov who is one of the former leaders of the youth in the Movement. They say they will not succumb to attempts at discord and spectacle and call for reason, cohesion and unity. They also declare their support for Ahmed Dogan.
