"Bulgargaz" filed an arbitration claim against "Gazprom" for compensation of EUR 400 million for damages suffered as a result of the unilateral suspension of natural gas supplies more than two years ago, at the end of April 2022.
"The lawsuit was filed yesterday before the Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris," the Bulgarian gas supplier stated, quoted by BNT.
The company recalls that at the end of May 2024, "Bulgargaz" EAD sent an invitation to "Gazprom Export" for the voluntary settlement of the claim of the Bulgarian company, according to the contract between the two companies.
"After the Russian side did not take action to resolve the issue out of court, "Bulgargaz" took the necessary steps to protect the interests of the company", the company stated.
The Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris is one of the most authoritative institutions in the world that administers the resolution of international commercial disputes.
