Yotova: For the second term, we will choose the best date. I am still optimistic about a regular government - 1

We will choose the best date so as to preserve the national interest. This is what Vice President Iliana Yotova told journalists about the handing over of the second exploratory mandate for the formation of a government, BTA reports. She participated in an international conference dedicated to crisis management and the possibilities of forecasting processes in an environment of sustainable uncertainty. The conference is organized by the Specialized Institute of Francophonie for Administration and Management at the University of Sofia “St. Kliment Ohridski“.

About the handing over of the mandate, Yotova indicated that she hopes this will happen in the coming days, but emphasized that this is the decision and authority of the head of state Rumen Radev.

She noted that they are carefully following what is happening in the country and the entire political process.

Regarding the formation of a government, Yotova said that she remains optimistic. I hope that after we finish and exhaust the epistolary genre with the exchange of letters, we will move on to real negotiations, as dictated by the democratic process in a parliamentary country, the vice president indicated.

Until now, we only hear requests, we don't hear what those who would like the third term propose, Yotova said. According to her, there is talk about everything else - about possible unions, divorces, but no one has come up with concrete proposals on what should be done in the coming months in the country in a situation where it is obvious that we are becoming more and more indebted, we will have problems with the budget, what will be the foreign policy of the country. Yotova pointed out that after yesterday's summit in Washington, it was not clear what the exact position of our country is.

When asked about the formula of management with experts, Yotova pointed out that she does not understand exactly what formula is proposed. I expect a new concept to be invented, until now it was an expert cabinet, we hear about a technical cabinet - whatever that means. Let's see who the people will be, the proposals for ministers, comments Yotova.

In her words, if a political party wants to take the mandate seriously and claims that it can form such an independent government, “as some parties say “equally distanced”, let us see the people who will be nominated, how independent they are.

Stable governments are governments in which clear political responsibility is assumed. Yes, there may be experts in them, but behind them there must be a clear majority and clearly defined policies, Yotova believes. p>

When asked if the electoral system is being changed, Yotova stated that the immediate issues facing the country and the problems that need to be solved for the sake of society, income, the standard of living, and the financial stability of the country are now on the agenda.

She pointed out that the Venice Commission often recommends that deep reforms in electoral systems are made when there is a relatively long period before the elections are held, in peace, with a calm parliament, with a stable political system and with clear majorities. According to Yotova, everything else is an adventure.
