The situation with the fire on the Bulgarian-Greek border remains critical for the fifth day. Firefighters and forest officials this morning again went high in Slavyanka to inspect the clearings made and the areas in Greece where the fire continues.
The flames have not yet reached our territory.
However, they are moving towards our side and are less than a kilometer from the furrow. This was assured to BNT by Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov, who made an aerial inspection of the outbreaks in the Greek part.
Today, a large number of firefighting forces and assets are expected to be regrouped and directed to the border and, if necessary, to respond in time. It is expected that the military will also be involved in helping firefighters and foresters.
