Dimitar Glavchev: Out of 15 vans, only 2-3 are uninhabitable. Whoever sent them to Voden will be punished - 1

People who have damage to their property after the fires and have applied for temporary accommodation are getting vans. It's good that they only need them in one place - in the village of Voden, where the biggest fire broke out. Vans that do not meet habitable standards will not be used. Out of 15 pieces, only 2-3 are like that. Someone may have made a mistake and sent unfit vans, but he will be punished. Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said this in a live broadcast on Facebook, in which he answered questions from the media and citizens, quoted by Nova TV .
"All those affected by the fires will receive the compensation provided for by law - BGN 1,578 for urgent expenses and BGN 2,500 for furniture. The fire in Voden has been contained. Congratulations to the volunteers who participated in the suppression. There were also firefighters from Turkey and Spain. On the first day we were there, we wanted to quickly deal with it and start the compensations in a short time. Those affected by the fires will also be able to take shelter in the departmental bases of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Defense. However, my observations show that they are unlikely to want to take advantage. People in Woden would rather stand by their burnt property, even if their vans are placed near their homes," he stated.

According to him, delivery of water pockets for the "Cougar" is the fastest way to act on massive fires. "For four such, BGN 500,000 is needed. The release of the funds can be approved very soon. Today, I will be presented with estimates from the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Defense in order to work with the Minister of Finance on the provision of aid," Glavchev explained.
Regarding the causes of the massive fires, the Acting Prime Minister emphasized that climate changes are the main culprit. "There was also a lot of rain, which favored the growth of large vegetation, which was then quickly dried up by the heat. The authorities have activated. In case of suspected arson, the perpetrators will be identified. However, they are very difficult to detect because some flames are started accidentally. I have doubts that the fire in the “Steneto“ reserve was deliberately started because the area is impassable. Locals say poachers and ranchers are unhappy. Only a sick brain could deliberately ignite such an element", he noted.
Glavchev urged not to equate the need for shelter for the victims of the fires with aid for Ukrainian refugees. "They are fleeing war. Various hotel owners have provided them with their material base. We agreed to help the refugees and this happened according to the law," the prime minister pointed out.

In his words, there are no grounds for replacing the acting Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov. "There was no occasion before the elections, and there is none now. We handled the organization of the vote, and now I see what he does every day," Glavchev is emphatic.

On the occasion of the purchase of new cars for the needs of the "Traffic Police" the prime minister emphasized that this is necessary for the traffic police to work more efficiently. And the funds came from the "Road Safety" fund.
