This morning, the Acting Minister of the Interior Kalin Stoyanov is expected to gave the latest information about the situation in the village of Elin Pelin, BNR reported.
The victims of the fire and subsequent explosions in the warehouses for pyrotechnic products near Elin Pelin are already two. The 20-year-old woman died yesterday, with 85% burns and severe intoxication. A day earlier, her father also died - the 49-year-old expert from the University of Mining and Geology, Petar Shishkov. Two people remain missing.
They are believed to have stayed in one of the rooms.
The mayor of Elin Pelin Ivaylo Simeonov said that teams have already gone around some of the houses, the description has begun. Here is what is important to know, explained Ivaylo Simeonov:
"What I know as of yesterday and I have no updated information is that there are seven houses with violations in windows, joinery and plastering, but the inspection continued after that and the data has yet to be summarized and together with those of the companies and warehouses that have compromised roofs and joinery to be handed over to the disaster and accident commission. The deadline for summarizing the information must be during the period of the declared partial disaster. When it is cancelled, we should now be ready to hand over these documents".
People from the region who have been injured and do not have insurance will most likely have to make the repairs first, and then submit the invoices, commented one of the residents of the village of Elin Pelin.
The mayor of Elin Pelin also added that the gas supply to the area, which was stopped due to the incident, is being partially and gradually started.
The Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov announced that his department is ready to organize the removal of the unexploded fireworks from the warehouses near Elin Pelin to a safe place.
