Instead of getting angry at the politicians, let's ask ourselves what kind of voters we are. Political scientist Petar Cholakov expressed this opinion to BNR and commented:
"The responsibility is ours! ... In recent years, we see that we are walking, as it were, in a vicious circle and there is no way out of the political spiral. The main reason for this is not so much in the politicians themselves as in society. Because instead of being angry with those we elected, we should ask ourselves why we didn't go to vote, why, by going, we supported people who don't justify our trust. As long as we continue not to learn our lessons, the results will be the same".
The political scientist predicts that Dimitar Glavchev will not be replaced and will remain prime minister of the next caretaker government:
"He also expressed a desire to stay. I don't see any particular intrigue surrounding the election of the acting Prime Minister".
Cholakov pointed out that "there is a potential for a presidential republic in Bulgaria, but this will not be a good solution":
"Society has been very strongly divided in recent years. On the other hand, however, the party system is in crisis. We should not try to make successive changes to the Constitution, which would limit Bulgaria and make it no longer a republic with a parliamentary government. If this is what President Rumen Radev means, it should be revised. That's not the solution. We must try to think through the parties and through the party system. I don't see another solution".
According to Petar Cholakov, there are internal problems in many of the parliamentary parties, pointing to DPS, BSP and "Velichie", which is why "they are not hungry for new early elections":
"I don't know that anyone is looking forward to the new elections. We will certainly get more of the same at the vote. A regular government with the same players will not solve our problems.
