The accusation of the Bulgarian prosecution against Ruzha Ignatova is untimely. Nothing will follow from it. Such actions can cause nothing but a series of jokes and laughter.
This is what lawyer and former Minister of the Interior Emanuil Yordanov told "Focus”.
He did not rule out the possibility of the existence of an "umbrella” from the services on Ruzha Ignatova's activities in our country, as if the services and the prosecutor's office were pushed in the direction of bringing charges against Ruzha Ignatova now. "But her activities should have been investigated in a timely manner. The longer time passes, the more difficult it can be to collect any evidence relevant to the detection of criminal activity. In criminal law, there are also statutes of limitations for conducting an investigation and imposing a penalty. In the end, we will have initiated criminal proceedings, which may also remain "in limbo" for years, enough to report activity that we have criminal proceedings against Ignatova”, Yordanov explained.
The latest decision of the Constitutional Court gives great peace of mind to the prosecution, he noted. "It is obvious that nothing will change there in the next 50 years, so at this moment they can take care of their PR,” commented Yordanov.
Very serious efforts should be made against a fraudster of Ignatova's rank. "And not a seven-year-delayed criminal proceeding," added the former Minister of the Interior.
He also raised the question of why Ruzha Ignatova's activity was "sleep over” for such a long time and from the services of countries that are much further ahead in their development than us.
