Today, 3.10.2024, a Notification was sent to the Speaker of the National Assembly Raya Nazaryan on the basis of Art. 70, para. 1, ex. 2 of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria from i. f. Chief Prosecutor of the Republic of Bulgaria regarding the detention of the representative of the 50th National Assembly Jeyhan Ibryamov for a serious crime.
In this regard, the Speaker of the Parliament Raya Nazaryan convened an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Speakers, at which its members were informed of the received notification of the detention of the People's Representative for a period of 24 hours under the Law on the Ministry of Internal Affairs, starting at 7:10 p.m. o'clock on 2 October 2024. The Speaker of the Parliament took this action due to the fact that the National Assembly is not in session due to the ongoing election campaign and there is no scheduled regular meeting at which the people's representatives will be informed of the received information.
Separately, it has been ordered and all the people's representatives have already been informed on their e-mails that they can familiarize themselves with the full text of the received notification in the office of the National Assembly.
