A family from Plovdiv lost their loved one after an AG operation in a Plovdiv hospital.
„You can't enter with your feet, but they will take you out in a coffin,”, Petrinka Kremenarova is categorical. She still cannot believe that she lost her 44-year-old daughter.
Maria underwent an operation to remove a fibroid node in a clinic in Plovdiv.
„We realized there was a problem. My sister had been told she had some sort of hematoma. They gave her painkillers and antipyretics, but she maintained a temperature the whole time”, explains Ginka Petrova, sister of the deceased Maria.
The 44-year-old woman was discharged in a bad condition, according to her relatives. That is why they are looking again for Dr. Ivan Glavchev, who performed the operation.
„He tried to examine her. However, she bled. There was a foul smell. "He understood very well what he did," Ginka Petrova told BTV categorically.
The woman was admitted again to the same hospital, but was then transferred to another, where they performed an emergency operation and fought for Maria's life for several days. But the doctors are losing her.
„The patient has total peritonitis based on infected old blood from hemorrhage in the abdominal cavity. Unfortunately, the source of the infection turns out to be the gynecological surgery itself," explains Prof. Dr. Rosen Dimov, head of the Surgical Department.
Dr. Ivan Glavchev, who performed the gynecological surgery, expressed his condolences to the relatives and stated that Maria was discharged from their hospital without problems.
„There is no clinical evidence of infection. This is caught when the patient has complaints, and when you have no complaints – how do you know what's going on?! We have had no reason to doubt – neither from the research nor from the patient's condition. Nothing spoke of the fact that things had become more complicated, explains Dr. Ivan Glavchev, an obstetrician-gynecologist at the Plovdiv hospital.
Relatives will file a lawsuit.
„We know that medical errors are in the ground. My daughter is there too. She left behind a child in the eighth grade and another younger child. And they blackmailed me," notes the bereaved mother Petrinka Kremenarova.
