A nuclear threat is coming not only from Moscow with the narratives that the Kremlin and Kremlin propagandists put out regularly, although experts consider that the probability there is very small, practically nil, that a nuclear weapon will be used, it comes, for example, from North Korea. Iran is making progress with its nuclear program, but so far it still does not have a nuclear weapon, but that is a concern. All these questions of global security we should solve as part of the democratic world.
The former Minister of Defense Todor Tagarev commented this to BNT.
According to him, there is no way Bulgaria can make a decision on its own or take any effective actions to control the spread of nuclear weapons, much less their use:
"But being part of this most powerful air political union in human history - NATO, being part of the European Union, we can make our contribution to increasing the level of security. The same goes for the wave of refugees. If we act independently and wait at the border and send no matter how many military personnel to the border, this issue has no solution. This issue has a solution when we work with our partners, our allies from the European Union, with our neighbors, with Turkey."
In his words, the solution is when there is a common European policy on how to deal with these refugees, and part of this European policy is that they do not come to Europe:
"They should stay either in place to create some conditions, or in Turkey. Here we are talking about several tens of thousands, maybe even more than 100 thousand, to be those people who will decide or decide to leave Lebanon. But people should know that there are 3 million refugees in Turkey. The fact that there will be another 100 thousand will not change the situation at all. So there is no threat," Tagarev specified.
