Good conditions for mountain tourism

The conditions for tourism in the mountains are good, the Mountain Rescue Service (MSS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) informed BTA.

The weather in the mountains is clear and sunny. Until an hour ago the temperatures were low, between 5° and 8°, with light winds in the higher parts of the mountains, the service added.

The "Laleto 1" chairlifts operate on Vitosha. and "Laleto 2", the PSS pointed out and specified that at that time the facilities in the mountain resorts usually do not work due to preventive maintenance before the ski season.

There are people who like to run in Sofia, others prefer mountain running, but the air is certainly cleaner in the mountains, commented the mountain service in connection with the marathon currently taking place in the capital.

During the last 24 hours, there were no registered incidents in the mountains, the PSS also reported.

In the mountains, it will be mostly sunny with scattered high clouds, according to the forecast of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology. It will blow to a moderate westerly, after noon on the highest peaks of Rila and Pirin a strong northwesterly wind. The maximum temperature at a height of 1200 meters will be about 15°, at 2000 meters - about 8°.
