The found dead Bilyana is the wife of international football assistant referee Martin Venev. He is a FIFA referee (FIFA AR) and has repeatedly received prestigious awards at home and abroad.
A reference to the uniforms for the next round of the Bulgarian football championship shows that Venev was supposed to be part of the refereeing team for the match FC CSKA 1948 - PFC Arda Kardjali 1924 on October 21, Monday. He was also an assistant referee at the Lokomotiv Plovdiv - Levski derby at the beginning of the season.
His colleagues say that Martin and Bilyana were a united and happy family. They are the parents of two children, the youngest of whom was only two months old.
"It is with regret that we learned of the death of Bilyana - the wife of our colleague Martin Venev. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones. On behalf of myself and that of the football referees in Bulgaria, I declare that we will support our colleague and his children," he told "Trud news" the chairman of the Association of Football Referees in Bulgaria, the international top referee from the recent past, Dr. Anton Genov.
The former football referee Angel Angelov, son of the emblem in refereeing Lyuben Angelov and nephew of Lyubé Spasov, was the one who called for help in the search for the missing Bilyana. "For many years, Angel and Martin have been as close as brothers," say their colleagues. Angelov was the first to report the sad news of the young woman's fatal end.
Earlier it became clear that the woman fell into severe postpartum depression, and most likely the cause of the fatal outcome was rooted in it.
At the moment, the police do not provide official information about the tragic end of 31-year-old Bilyana, and they are most likely waiting for permission from the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
