We call on the politicians for restraint and constructive dialogue, because in their hands is the formation of a regular and stable government, which we all want. This was stated by acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev at the beginning of today's weekly government meeting, broadcast by BTA.

At the beginning, let me express my gratitude to the Bulgarian citizens who participated in the elections on Sunday. Apparently, the appeals made by everyone, including us, for active participation have reached them. The various messages of the political parties participating in the elections have also arrived. This is a good sign that should continue, Glavchev pointed out.

We have fulfilled our main task – the organization of fair and transparent elections, he commented.

Dimitar Glavchev quotes an assessment contained in a report by observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the organization of the vote.

„The early parliamentary elections held on October 27 in Bulgaria were competitive and professionally managed by the election administration. We welcome the good organization of the elections and the unceasing efforts of the voters, exhausted by endless cycles of repeated elections,”, quotes Dimitar Glavchev.

On the occasion of the organization, there is nothing more to say, he thinks.

The Acting Prime Minister announced that important legislation was to be considered. “It is about the laws on the state budget, the budget of the National Health Insurance Fund and the budget of the State Social Insurance. Today we will propose a decision to introduce them when the 51st National Assembly is constituted. This is necessary for no other reason than because the Public Finance Act states that the deadline for submitting the budget is 31 October, but I think everyone understands that this would be absolutely pointless. Today we will consider such a proposal and I think it will be accepted. It is absolutely well-argued," the prime minister thinks.

"We hope that the 51st National Assembly will be constituted sooner and a regular and stable government will be formed, which has political support and bears political responsibility for its actions. When, after four years, I hope, there are new elections and the voters evaluate what they listened to in the election campaign, what commitments were made and what was done, then their activity will be even greater, Prime Minister Glavchev also said.
