The elections this time brought little surprises< /strong> commented to Radio Sofia Assoc. Ivo Indjov - a political observer with an interest in media studies. Among the small surprises, he counted the higher voter turnout compared to the previous vote.
"For me personally, the good performance of "DPS-New Beginning" is a small surprise. compared to the results of the "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms - APS". I expected it to be the opposite ratio. Obviously, the machinery around Peevski is very strong and affects different groups of voters, we saw a record number of Roma voting for this DPS. On the other hand, there is fear evident in Dogan's DPS voters. There is also frustration built up over the years that the DPS has done nothing for those regions where there are compact groups of ethnic Turks. And now, given the situation, no wonder this mechanism worked and they didn't vote enthusiastically for the "icon" of the transition in Bulgaria, such as Ahmed Dogan", explained Associate Professor Injov.
He also commented on the lack of only about 30 votes for the entry into parliament of the "Majesty" party.
"Even if these 30 votes are not really there, the mass psyche is such that there will always be a suspicion that the big ones there have come to an agreement and deprived the small protest, anti-system party of political representation. But there really should be a parallel census, as the leader of "Greatness" wants, added Prof. Ivo Injov.
In his words, the case surrounding the party should be approached very seriously.
"The signal is very clear – today it is us, tomorrow it may be you".
According to Prof. Indjov, a government can be created with the backbone of GERB-SDS and PP-DB, as well as a smaller formation outside of "Vazrazhdane". and "DPS-New Beginning".
