Glavchev: I see no reason to demand the resignation of Minister Ilkov - 1

I see no reason to ask for the resignation of the Minister of the Interior, I personally would not give it to him asked for. Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said this to journalists, commenting on the elections held on October 27 and reports of election violations, broadcast by BTA. Glavchev recalled that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the State Agency “National Security” have submitted reports that are public on the page of the Council of Ministers.

When asked to comment on the words of the head of state Rumen Radev, according to whom the Ministry of the Interior failed to guarantee the fairness of the vote, Glavchev stated: “The changes, compared to the previous caretaker government, were made in dialogue with the president. If he has any objections to the minister of the interior, he could ask for his replacement”.

„Doubts must be cleared. Doubts, on the other hand, stem from what can be seen from the video surveillance in the sections, and the sections are again in the politicians' field, Glavchev also said.

Dimitar Glavchev also commented on the statements of various political forces about the possible rigging of the elections. “First – no such request has been submitted. Furthermore, 48 people's representatives have the right to request and appeal to the Constitutional Court for a possible annulment of the elections. Only the court decides on the basis of the evidence presented to it. The state handles everything, if by state we mean all institutions. I don't know how well the voters will manage to go to the polls one more time. It doesn't look very good, considering that now we have 38-39% voter turnout”, said Glavchev.

The official prime minister indicated that the competent authorities should rule on the various reports of violations during the elections. “The commitment of the executive was before the sectional election commissions. From there on, there should be a signal filed by the sectional election commission, so that other bodies can be referred, but not the executive power, he pointed out.

Regarding the draft budget, Glavchev commented that its framework is still being discussed, and then it will be submitted for consideration in the National Assembly, where all parliamentary forces can make proposals.
