Lebanese rescue teams have removed the bodies of 30 dead from a destroyed building in an Israeli airstrike in on Tuesday evening, a residential building in the city of Barja, reported the Associated Press, cited by BTA, referring to the Lebanese Civil Defense.

It is not yet known if there are any survivors or bodies still buried under the wreckage after the nighttime strike, which was carried out without warning. There was no statement from the Israeli army, and the target of the attack was not clear. According to civil defense teams, several of the neighbors of the people in the collapsed building claim that there are still occupants missing.

The Israeli forces and the Lebanese armed group “Hezbollah” have been trading blows for more than a year after “Hezbollah” began firing rockets across the border shortly after the attack by the Palestinian organization “Hamas” of October 7, 2023 and Israel's subsequent military operation in the Gaza Strip. The war on Lebanese soil escalated in mid-September when Israel launched massive airstrikes and a ground operation.

Meanwhile, the “Hezbollah” last night said it had fired drones at an Israeli base south of Tel Aviv, saying it was the first time it had targeted a military installation.

In a statement, the Lebanese group said it had sent a “squadron of strike drones against the “Bilou“ (belonging to an airborne brigade of the Israeli army), south of Tel Aviv“.

In Jerusalem, for the second night in a row, thousands of people protested against the removal of Defense Minister Yoav Galant. He was fired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday after Netanyahu said he had lost confidence in him.

Protesters in Jerusalem called on Netanyahu to reverse his decision and demanded a compromise with “Hamas” in the Gaza Strip to free about 100 hostages still held by Palestinian militants. Demonstrators also demanded the rejection of planned military service exemptions for ultra-Orthodox Jews.
