The head of state Rumen Radev met today in the presidential institution with Lyupcho Georgievski, chairman of the Bulgarian cultural center "Ivan Mihailov" closed by the authorities in the Republic of North Macedonia. in the city of Bitola, the presidency announced.
During the conversation, Lyupcho Georgievski expressed the hope of the Bulgarian community in the RSM for the earliest possible inclusion of Bulgarians in the country's constitution, which would create constitutional guarantees for the protection of their rights, open the way for the RSM to start negotiations for EU membership, as well as to stimulate cultural and educational exchange between the two countries.
President Radev, for his part, has shared his expectations that the state leadership of the RSM will fulfill the deadline adopted in July 2022 as soon as possible. consensus for the inclusion of Bulgarians in the country's constitution and to proceed with the implementation of the bilateral Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation, which is an integral part of the negotiation framework.
