The election of the Speaker of the National Assembly is among the main tasks of the newly elected deputies already at the first plenary session, according to the agenda published on the website of the legislative body.
The National Council of “Continuing the Change“ gave a mandate yesterday to party leaders without support for the “sanitary cordon“ about Delyan Peevski and the DPS-Novo Besna not to enter into discussions about the speaker of the National Assembly or other subsequent talks, PP co-chairman Kiril Petkov told journalists.
The National Council has also given a mandate within the coalition council between PP and “Democratic Bulgaria”, which is meeting today, according to Petkov, to consider the best option for a potential candidate nominated by the parliamentary group, for chairman of the National Assembly. Whether PP-DB will have its own nomination at all and what the name will be will become clear precisely at today's meeting.

In front of the participants in the forum, the leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov, stated that they will not give up on their conviction that the Speaker of the National Assembly should be removed from the first political force.
