There are five candidates for chairman. The first two with the most votes will go to a runoff.
GERB-SDS nominated Raya Nazaryan for the Speaker of the Parliament. "I urge you to support this worthy candidacy,", urged Temenuzka Petkova.
From "Revival" nominated lawyer Petar Petrov.
Toshko Yordanov proposed on behalf of "There is such a people" (ITN) Nicoleta Kuzmanova, stressing that she is undoubtedly the right choice for President of the National Assembly.
Nikolay Denkov announced that the PP-DB proposed the former Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Andrey Tsekov as Speaker of the Parliament.
According to the PP-DB, the experience that Tsekov possesses - parliamentary, combined with legal education and professionalism in the field of construction, is a sufficient condition for a dignified presidency of the National Assembly.
BSP proposed Assoc. Nataliya Kiselova. Borislav Gutsanov pointed out that the constitutionalist is one of the most worthy candidates for the post.

The 51st National Assembly rejected the candidacy of Andrey Tsekov from the PP-DB for the Speaker of the Parliament. When revoting "for" 67 deputies voted, 47 were "against" and 124 abstained.

Parliament also rejected the candidacy of Natalia Kiselova, put forward by the BSP.
