Toshko Yordanov from ITN proposed that the oldest member of parliament - Silvi Kirilov - be elected temporarily as the Speaker of the National Assembly, who will remain in office until a majority is formed to nominate its own Speaker. This was reported by BNT.
"There is an understanding of the proposal in the ranks of BSP, MECH and APS. "Revival" and PP-DB said that they should discuss with the parliamentary groups", said Toshko Yordanov after the closing of the first parliamentary session of the 51st National Assembly.
He emphasized that no one has yet held talks with them about forming a government.
"We proposed to the colleagues an option worthy of all, that the oldest person would temporarily continue to lead, so that normal conversations could be held. So far no one has talked to us about anything. As far as I understand from colleagues, the first political force has not spoken to any of them. The commitment is theirs. If there will be a government, it must be clear what policy it will pursue, what economic policy it will pursue, what the legislative program will be, who will implement it, whether there is enough support, and only then a government. From the head to the feet is not the approach, that's how the assembly was approached. And we are in this whole mess because of this assembly that made extremely harmful and I would say foolish changes to the Constitution that we will now have to fix.
