The Vice-President: Young people must find self-confidence in our history - 1

Bulgarian self-awareness is brought up not with harsh definitions or slogans, but by stimulating young Bulgarians to seek and to gain national self-confidence from the historical facts, from the great Bulgarians and events, from the incredible Bulgarian culture. This was stated by Vice President Iliana Yotova at the “Untold Stories of Bulgarians” forum.

The event presented the results of the National Program “Untold Stories of the Bulgarians“ of the Ministry of Education and Science, which stimulates students, teachers, professors from abroad and Bulgarian students to show the centuries-old and modern history of Bulgaria through personal experiences and ancestral memory.

The Vice President has supported the program since its inception.

„The untold stories of the Bulgarians” is an extraordinary program in which Bulgarians present historical facts that they themselves have found, realized and want to present them with all the responsibility of their childish soul. As little discoverers, they have taken their time, sought advice, found facts to captivate us, to convince us that they are important to us as Bulgarians. "The adults can learn a lot from them," Yotova pointed out.

The Vice President thanked the support, tireless work and love of the Bulgarian teachers abroad, who stimulate the research spirit of children and young people.

„This program fulfilled our dream – to have a closer relationship between Bulgarian Sunday schools and Bulgarian lecterns abroad", Iliyana Yotova noted.

She ended her greeting with the words of the writer Nikolay Rainov.

„He thought that the man was not particularly beautiful to begin with. It doesn't look good at all when it's fallen, or when it's puffed up too proudly and narcissistically. A man is nice when he stands up, says Nikolay Rainov. And of all the human steps on the road, he liked the most the steps not on a straight line, but when one wanders and searches. Because this is the thinking man“.
