The party system is being devalued from the elites of the major parties, political scientist Georgi Kiryakov told BNR.
"This is not a crisis of democracy. This is a crisis of the party elites," he declared.
"By the end of the year, the government – absurd! I am very skeptical that normal work of the parliament can begin with this composition," said the political scientist.
Kiryakov outlined two hypothetical radical solutions for a breakthrough in the current situation – withdrawal of the political elites of the major parties – with almost zero probability of happening, or an increase in the result of the nationalist and radical parties to force the others to agree – with a higher probability of happening.
The third hypothesis – the most likely one is related to the end of President Radev's term. This is a matter of the near future, more than half of his term has expired, the political scientist pointed out.
The possibility of Bulgarian voters supporting the idea of a referendum on a presidential republic should not be ruled out, Kiryakov expressed his opinion.
"There is a charge in a referendum to change the form of government with greater weight on the president."
Disruption is part of the political landscape. There is no idea of consolidation, the political scientist also reports.

In connection with the blockage in the National Assembly and the impossibility of electing even a chairman, Kiryakov admitted that "there is probably some idea that they will dissolve on the holidays" and they will sit until January. In the actions in the plenary hall, he sees a "desire to kick the ball so that new elections can be reached in March", because February is not convenient for the parties.
Why don't the parties finally understand that they have to be convenient for society, and not when it will be convenient for them to have elections, asked Georgi Kiryakov.
PP-DB have a stable result, but this has long been a coalition of stubbornness, it was created for greater weight in the parliament, he believes.
"The only argument that holds them together is the potential involvement in the distribution of power. If they appear individually, their results will be so weak that they will not be able to influence the political processes."
Peevski's influence and role will continue "as long as they let him play his pieces on the chessboard", the political scientist stressed.
"And in the Constitutional Court, the parties managed to lay their cuckoo eggs. The decisions of the SC are politicized. The SC is flooded with all kinds of reports and complaints. The Supreme Court acts as an arbiter to resolve the political crisis, but it does not have this role," Georgi Kiryakov also pointed out.
Georgi Kiryakov: Only the growth of nationalists and radicals can lead the rest to an agreement
The other option is the withdrawal of the political elites, but the chance for it is zero, the political scientist believes
