Who and what conditions sets for the formation of a parliamentary majority and a cabinet and will GERB-SDS and PP-DB find an intersection point for governance commented the journalist Silvia Velikova and the political scientist Stoicho Stoichev in “Hello, Bulgaria”.
“I can't imagine there being such a configuration – PP-DB, GERB-SDS, plus someone else, provided that this “someone” it could be ITN, who have another plan or BSP, who say “in no case with GERB”, said Velikova. According to her, there is a lot of second plan in the talks between PP-DB and GERB-SDS. “If the PP-DB agree to Boyko Borisov being prime minister, that is the end of them”, the journalist pointed out.
Stoychev pointed out that if we look at the strategies, PP-DB and GERB-SDS have no other option to participate in a majority without each other, or one of the coalitions with “Vazrazhdane”.
Velikova believes that the eventual return of the president's powers to form an interim government could be a motivation for forming a regular cabinet. However, she emphasized that it is not clear how long-lasting such a rule would be.
